Bikers and Triumph Motorcycles Deliver Bottled Water to Hammanskraal Amid Cholera Outbreak
In a remarkable display of unity and compassion, a group of dedicated bikers had stepped forward to aid the distressed community of Hammanskraal. These bikers had pledged to collect water donations as part of a relief initiative. Generous individuals who wished to contribute to this cause were encouraged to drop off their water bottles at Triumph Motorcycles, conveniently located at the intersection of South and Kramerville Roads in Sandton.
Donations were accepted from Monday to Friday, between 09:00 am and 4:00 pm, and on Saturdays from 09:00 am to 1:00 pm.The group of bikers, driven by their unwavering commitment to help those in need, had planned to gather the donated water from Triumph Motorcycles and deliver it to Hammanskraal on June 3, 2023The bikers, who are part of the South African Female Riders Forum, delivered over 1 Million litres of water in Hammanskraal.
The water was donated by the forum, Triumph Motorcycles and other groups of bikers who wanted to help the community during this difficult time. An estimate of 400 bikers heeded this call and as a result, more than 500 families benefitted from this initiative. An overall amount of close to R340 000 was spent to bring idea to fruition.Bikers were praised by Deputy Minister of Water and Sanitation, Judith Tshabalala, who said that their donation was a “much-needed relief” for the community.”I would like to thank the bikers and Triumph Motorcycles for their generosity and for coming together to help the people of Hammanskraal,” said Tshabalala. “This is a very difficult time for the community, and their donation will make a real difference.”
The cholera outbreak in Hammanskraal had been declared a national disaster, and the government had been working to provide clean water to the community.
