In 2009 a few like-minded individuals living in Lenasia and Lenasia South [Gauteng] who were passionate about biking decided to form a club so that they could incorporate charity work in the community and the surrounding areas while having fun. The name Charity Riders was suggested by Hamehsha Naidoo, a then primary school student with charitable disposition. Since our primary focus was in support of children, a Teddy Bear proposed for our patch. The name and patch were formally adopted by all and in 2010 and Charity Riders MCC was born.

Our main areas of focus are Ennerdale; Finetown, Lenasia South, Vlakfontein, Lenasia, Eldorado Park, Klipspruit , Soweto and surrounds.

Over the years we have participated in various events hosted by other clubs all over Gauteng. [ie. Day Jols / Matric dance escort /funeral escort /weddings, Toy runs, Blood drives and providing support for local community events etc.]

Our annual pet projects are the Ghandi Walk, Uncle Harrys Charity walk and as off last year, the National Diwali Run 2019 and support the annual Toy Runs given the focus on orphan children in the broader communities. We are founding members of the NDR (National Diwali Run).

Most of our efforts are focused on individual families and children. Some of the recipients are not comfortable with their childrens’ pictures being posted due to victimisation and unwanted attention at school etc. Out of respect, Charity Riders has taken a decision NOT to take pictures or post these initiatives or to publicise them on social media.
